CONSUMER RIGHTS ORGANISATION APPOINTS YOGISH SHETTY JEPPU AS KARNATAKA STATE PRESIDENT

MANGALURU — Yogish Shetty Jeppu, Editor of Tulunada Surya and Founder President of Tulunada Rakshana Vedike, has been appointed as the Karnataka State President of the All India Consumer Protection Organisation (AICPO).

​The official order, issued on Tuesday by AICPO National President Harishankar Shukla following a recommendation from the National Vice President, confirms his tenure from September 15, 2026, to September 30, 2028. The appointment remains subject to final ratification by the organisation’s Central Executive Committee.

​Shetty, a former Mangaluru City Corporation Corporator and active social leader, brings extensive public service experience to the role. He has been recognized with several distinctions, including the District Karnataka Rajyotsava Award, State Yuva Sadhaka Award, Jnana Saraswati State Award, and Sangha Ratna State Award.

​Key Focus Areas for the New Tenure:

​District Expansion: Activating and extending AICPO district-level units across all of Karnataka.

​Awareness Campaigns: Educating the public on consumer rights, product safety, and service quality standards.

​Grievance Redressal: Establishing clear coordination channels with government departments to address consumer disputes through lawful and democratic means.

​Speaking on his appointment, Shetty stated that protection of consumer rights and building grassroots awareness would remain top priorities. “We will work sincerely to strengthen the organisation across Karnataka and ensure that every consumer is aware of their rights and knows the appropriate avenues available to seek justice,” he said.

​The appointment has been widely welcomed by local social, civic, and consumer-focused organisations across the state.
